Connecting a New Store Opening with Nearby Stores: Olive Young’s NFC Check-in Rally
Olive Young connected five Seongsu stores around the Beauty Mansion opening through NFC check-ins, mobile guidance, and rewards. Explore the visit experience.
Carrying interest in a new space into the next store
When a visit to a new store includes another nearby location, an opening promotion reaches beyond a single space. The new destination remains at the center, while familiar stores gain another reason to be visited.
The Olive Young NFC Check-in Rally in Seongsu connected five stores around the opening of Beauty Mansion. Visitors tapped in-store NFC points to check in and became eligible for a reward after meeting the participation requirements.
VVFY STUDIO built the store check-ins, mobile guidance, reward-collection confirmation, and admin dashboard. A mobile connection between spaces allowed participation started in one store to continue at the next.
Five Seongsu stores connected around Beauty Mansion
Olive Young Beauty Mansion Seongsu opened on June 30, 2026. CJ Olive Young introduced it as an expansion of the K-beauty experience into northern Seongsu, following Olive Young N Seongsu.
The rally included Beauty Mansion, Olive Young N Seongsu, Seongsu Yeonbang, Seongsu Station, and Ttukseom Station. The newly opened space and existing stores appeared together as destinations on the same map.
Participation required check-ins at two stores, including Beauty Mansion. Visitors chose their other stop from the four surrounding stores. At Beauty Mansion, at least two key stamps were needed to complete the store check-in.
The structure encouraged visits to multiple points within the new space, while allowing the next store to fit the visitor's location and schedule. The central destination received attention without requiring a visit to every participating store.
The housewarming concept continues onto the phone
The promotion used a housewarming concept. Beauty Mansion was the newly opened space welcoming visitors, with nearby stores included as places to stop along the way. Key-shaped stamps carried that theme into the mobile check-in record.
After discovering the promotion through an in-store sign, visitors encountered the same concept on the screen opened by an NFC tap. Checkpoints were recorded as keys, and store check-in status continued on the phone.
The campaign's story stayed with visitors as they moved between locations. The venue name, physical guidance, and mobile screens shared a context, bringing several Seongsu stores into one promotion.
Where have I been, and where can I go next?
Visiting several stores calls for accessible guidance: which locations are participating, which requirements have been met, and what remains before collecting a reward. That information needs to be available during the journey.
Tapping an in-store NFC point displayed its key stamp on the mobile website. Visitors could follow their store-level check-in status and remaining requirements in the same flow. The entry screen directing them to tap an NFC point on site also included a map of participating stores.
The map helped visitors find their next destination, while the check-in screen carried their visit record forward. Physical signs introduced participation; the mobile screen provided guidance between stores.
From checked-in visits to reward collection
The reward-collection screen became available once the required check-ins were complete. An on-site staff member then entered a password to mark collection as finished.
Reward eligibility and actual receipt were treated as separate states. The check-ins on a visitor's phone established eligibility, and a staff check completed the handover.
Participation across several stores stayed connected through the final collection step. Visitors received guidance on what to do next, while staff had a common basis for checking and recording receipt.
Reviewing participation store by store
A promotion running across multiple locations also needs a view of each store. The admin dashboard showed where and when participation was recorded, alongside the overall picture.
| Available record | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Store-level participation | Participation in the promotion at each location |
| Checkpoint tag counts | Usage of individual participation points within stores |
| Participation by time of day | When participation records were concentrated |
Read alongside store locations, sign placement, and on-site observations, these records provide a basis for reviewing operations. A checkpoint with fewer records may warrant a look at how easily its sign can be found; a busy participation period can inform staffing discussions.
The data describes participation in the check-in promotion, distinct from total store footfall or sales. Within that scope, it can help compare participation across locations and refine future visit requirements and guidance.

Beauty Mansion's opening remained at the center of the promotion. Visits to surrounding stores were part of the same experience. Required and optional destinations, a map, check-in records, and reward collection formed a route visitors could follow on site.
A similar visit structure can connect a pop-up with a permanent store, or bring several showrooms into one event. The main destination and accompanying spaces can be chosen first, with requirements shaped around travel distances and time spent inside.
The Olive Young Check-in Rally connected interest in a new store with a reason to explore nearby locations. See the actual signage and mobile screens in the Olive Young Check-in Rally portfolio. For NFC promotions connecting multiple spaces, contact VVFY STUDIO.
Frequently asked questions
Do visitors have to collect every stamp?
The requirements can be set to suit the event. Visitors could collect a specified number of stamps from the available locations, or visit a combination of required and optional checkpoints. Travel distances and the time needed for each experience help determine the participation requirements.
Can different completion requirements unlock different rewards?
Yes. Reward types and value can vary according to the number of stamps collected or the combination of locations visited. For example, visiting three locations could unlock a standard reward, while visiting every location could unlock a higher-value reward. Each tier can be planned around the event budget and the visits you want to encourage.
Do visitors need to install a separate app?
The rally can run on the mobile web without a separate app. Visitors tap an on-site NFC point to open the participation screen and check their stamps and remaining requirements. They can continue using the same participation screen as they move between locations.
Can organizers monitor participation during the event?
An admin dashboard can be configured to show participation by store or booth, tag counts by checkpoint, and participation trends by time of day. These records help organizers see where and when participation is concentrated and review on-site guidance and staffing.
