Good Neighbors Turni NFC Plush Doll

The Good Neighbors Turni NFC plush doll is a supporter-only digital experience that lets new sponsors tap the doll they received and open today's message from a sponsored child. The goal was to help supporters continue feeling connected to the child after the sponsorship sign-up was complete. VVFY Studio embedded NFC into the Turni doll and applied secure NFC-based access control. When a user taps the actual doll, the message page opens. If someone tries to open the link directly or through a shared URL, an unauthenticated guide screen appears instead. This made the message content accessible only through the physical connection between the supporter and the doll. The content was designed as a small message archive, not a simple thank-you page. It includes a personalized greeting with the supporter's name, today's story from a sponsored child, previous message history, and save/share functions. To protect children's rights, the content is created with pseudonyms while still preserving the feeling of receiving a new personal update each time. This project turned sponsorship from a one-time payment or campaign action into a repeated relationship between the supporter and the child. Turni became more than a gift; it became a reason to tap again, giving Good Neighbors a digital touchpoint that helps supporters keep the meaning of sponsorship present in daily life.
